Renate Stjernholm
Born in 1958 in St. Johann im Pongau, Austria.
Residence and studio in Maishofen and Hua Hin / Thailand
In 2005 self-taught entry into painting with Norbert Mayer, Kaprun.
Since summer 2010 student of Prof. Franz Wolf from Grödig.
After the basic course on drawing and color theory, I attended courses for portraits and life-size nudes. Weekly seminars in Grödig teach the combination of the use of acrylic, PanPastell, colored pencils, gold leaf, silverpoint and graphite.
Prof. Franz Wolf is my teacher and mentor at the same time, he is excellent at guiding me towards maximum performance.
My participation in solo and group exhibitions in recent years has been so successful that my paintings have delighted art lovers in Denmark, Croatia, Germany, Austria, Qatar and Thailand.
From inspiration to work – often a long road with an uncertain destination, with many intermediate stops and aberrations.
The inexhaustible sources for my ideas are the values of our time, the complex individual human being as well as my own experiences and challenges in life.
My pictures are the result of observations – of society, the zeitgeist, people and their fates. However, I am not interested in evaluations, but solely in attentiveness.
The message of my paintings is therefore always neutral, but at the same time provocative enough to leave plenty of room for interpretation and discussion.
This is also my goal: to give the viewer space for a journey into their own self. I want to touch people with my work – both positively and negatively – and make them think.
